The “Signature Series” professional development conference is a tailor-made experience for passionate educators that presents four dynamic tracks, each designed to explore and elevate your expertise in key educational domains. 

Math & Science Track

Join renowned educators Ron Clark, Dr. Valerie Camille Jones, Carrie-Jo Wallace, Daniel Thompson, Dr. Natalie Pough, and Cer’Princeton Harden for an immersive, interactive PD experience that is focused on mathematics and science strategies for K-12 teachers!

 

You will learn engaging, dynamic ways to teach mathematics and science to your students as you participate in interactive workshops, classroom observations, and sharing sessions that will give you meaningful strategies, creative takeaways, and a renewed enthusiasm for teaching. 

 

While here, you will have the opportunity to observe classroom sessions and attend PD workshops, all while engaging with our staff and students. We are here to share our experiences and best practices with you,  and we will provide you with techniques and strategies that will empower, support, inspire, uplift, and equip you to be the best you can be.

ELA Track

Designed for ELA K-12 teachers, ELA is an immersive experience will enable you to observe ELA classrooms in session and attend workshops led by Ron Clark, Kim Bearden, and our entire ELA department. We will share our ideas and strategies for ways to enhance your ELA classroom with proven strategies that will engage even the most restless of learners. You will be given tools teach the required curriculum in ways that will create meaningful results. An emphasis will be placed on ways to engage students, foster academic excellence, build rapport, and instill a love in all things ELA!

Reaching & Teaching
Boys Track

Join Troy Kemp (former founding director for the National Center for the Development of Boys), Junior Bernadin, Kirk Brown, Michael Bonner, and the other men of RCA for an interactive, immersive professional development experience that focuses on research-based methods for raising, mentoring, teaching, guiding, and supporting young men, both inside and outside of the classroom. Learn how toxic masculinity, miscommunication, and misunderstanding can be a barrier to our students’ success, happiness, and emotional well-being.

 

If you are struggling to engage, understand, support, or connect with the males in your school, this day is one that will motivate, equip, empower, and enlighten you. You will leave with powerful strategies and techniques that will transform your ability to reach and teach your male students with success.

Culture By Design:

Responsive Teaching Practices Track

Join Susan Arauz Barnes, Pamela Haskins, Dr. Camille Jones, Junior Bernadin, and other dynamic members of our team for a professional development experience steeped in research-based, strategies that will enhance every classroom. These engaging workshops support new and experienced educators from all content areas as they create a school culture that promotes understanding culture within America’s classrooms and the society at large.

Engage in meaningful discussions and leave with methods and resources that support diverse students. This slate of workshops contextualizes the standard curriculum so that each student finds value and authentic connection to the lessons you teach. If you teach students who do not look like you OR if you are the “minority” teacher in your school OR if you want more culturally sustainable practices and resources for your classroom, then these workshops are definitely for you!
