Ron Clark Academy students honor their city alongside Ludacris and Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms

ATLANTA (February 1, 2019) – To commemorate the upcoming arrival of the National Football League’s (NFL) Super Bowl LIII game, the Ron Clark Academy (RCA) partnered with Mercedes-Benz and their Greatness Lives Here vignette series to create a music video titled, “Welcome to the A.” The 3-minute long video, which debuted on Friday, January 25th, features notable public figures including rapper and actor Ludacris as well as Mayor of Atlanta, Keisha Lance Bottoms.

Within five days, the video surpassed 1 million views as residents of Atlanta and individuals nationwide have clung to the catchy soundtrack that celebrates the city as one where greatness lives. Throughout the entire visual, RCA students take viewers on a journey across the city as they visit popular landmarks and perform raps about beloved sports teams, restaurants, and historic venues.

When reflecting on the value of the video to her, RCA 8thgrader Jordan Barber expressed, “Personally, being a part of the video meant a lot to me because I’ve grown up in Atlanta and my entire family calls it home,” she continued, “to be able to shine a light on all the positives about the city makes it feel really special.”

Additionally, the music video serves as a continued collaboration between RCA, Mercedes-Benz, and Ludacris as the renowned automobile provider and legendary music artist recently surprised two RCA students with tickets to the NFL’s big game.
