DR. CAMILLE JONES FORD

Director of Curriculum and Instruction
and Math Teacher

Dr. Valerie Camille Jones serves as the director of curriculum and instruction. She currently teaches a high school level algebra 1 course and a STEM class. Dr. Jones earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics at Spelman College and continued her studies by earning master’s and doctoral degrees in mathematics education from Georgia State University and Columbia University respectively. She is national board certified and also a certified industry studio teacher.

 

Dr. Jones is respected for her creative approach in making difficult subjects accessible to students. For over 21 years, Dr. Jones has worked in the field of math education. Jones has trained more than 100,000 teachers on her instructional methods. She has created video modules for Teach for America, Texas Instruments, the ARRAY production company, Quizlet, Comcast People Behind the People, and the I Am Other Old Navy commercials. Dr. Jones was also recognized by Congressman John Lewis at the 114th congress 1st session and three times by former President Barack Obama at the White House. Georgia Trend Magazine named her to their Top 40 Under 40 List, Mental Floss magazine presented her with the Platypus Award, and Dr. Jones was awarded the Presidential Award for Mathematics Teaching. She has also been highlighted for her work supporting women and girls in mathematics by the Women in Technology (WIT) and the YWCA organizations. Dr. Jones’ business platform is based on the trademarked theme of MathEsteem which she promotes in monthly PD sessions. Camille is also a wife and a mom to three children.  @drvcjones
